Dear KeyWallet users,
many of you have reported data loss problems, i.e. losing all keys. On the one hand this can happen after reinstalling or upgrading Windows, this feature was integrated because of security reasons (to protect your data from being read at another computer). On the other hand this can happen because of a bug in KeyWallet. Of cause you may also face this problem if you get some virus.
To protect your data you should make backups regularly (at least once a month).
IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT to simply make a backup of the KeyWallet directory!!!
To make a BACKUP you should use the "Export/Import" feature on the context (right mouse button) menu. You should also protect the backup with a password (the "Protect with password" option), but don't select other protection options, otherwise you won't be able to restore the data on another computer or after reinstalling Windows!
We hope this recommendation will help you protecting your KeyWallet keys and passwords.
Best regards KeyWallet Team
